European missile manufacturer MBDA has suspended the manufacturing of Taurus cruise missiles due to contracting issues. The production of Taurus stealth missiles was abruptly halted due to the federal government’s decision not to place further orders. According to German branch head of MBDA, the production was halted as the defence industry is not allowed to produce stockpiles without orders. According to German magazine Der Spiegel, MBDA insists on speeding up the German government’s decision-making on production orders. MBDA’s German division head, Thomas Gottschild said “We can do it much better and faster here in Germany”. Watch the video to find out more.
