Police in Brooklyn are looking for the suspect behind a deadly stabbing following a dispute early on Sunday morning.

The victim, an unidentified man in his 30s, was knifed in the left side of his torso near a bus stop at 544 Nostrand Ave. in Bedford-Stuyvesant at about 12:29 a.m. on Sept. 15, law enforcement sources said.

Officers from the 79th Precinct made the bloody discovery in responding to a 911 call at the location regarding an assault in progress.

EMS rushed the wounded man to Kings County Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later. The victim’s identity is pending at this time, police said.

Based on a preliminary investigation, police believe the victim was attacked following a verbal dispute with his suspected killer. The exact cause of the dispute remains unknown and under investigation.

Police said no arrests have been made in the ongoing probe. Detectives are looking for the suspect, who is described by law enforcement sources as a man wearing a black durag, a red shirt, and black pants.

The 79th Precinct reported four homicides year-to-date through Sept. 8, according to the most recent CompStat report; that’s down from the seven homicides tallied at the same point last year. Felony assaults for the year are up slightly, at 1.7%.
