Police in Brooklyn are looking for the suspect behind a subway stabbing on Tuesday night that left a man seriously wounded.

Law enforcement sources said the violence erupted on board a Manhattan-bound Q train approaching the 7th Avenue station in Park Slope at about 11:09 p.m. on Dec. 17.

Citing police sources, WABC-TV reported that the assault occurred following a verbal dispute among a number of people on board the train. When contacted by amNewYork Metro on Wednesday, however, an NYPD spokesperson could not confirm that report.

Officers from the 78th Precinct and NYPD Transit District 32 responded to the 7th Avenue station after receiving a 911 call about the stabbing.

There, they located the victim, a 30-year-old man, who had suffered stab wounds to his chest and left arm.

EMS rushed the wounded man to NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.

So far, no arrests have been made in the ongoing investigation, police said.
