Bar brawl turns ugly

A stranger attacked a man outside a Bensonhurst bar on New Utrecht Avenue on Dec. 9.

According to police, the attacker struck up an argument with the victim after leaving the bar at 2:54 a.m. As tensions rose, the attacker then picked up an empty glass beer bottle and hit him over the head with it. 

The victim did not seek medical attention.

Exploitation 

 A 19-year-old threatened and exploited another teen near 80th Street and Bay Parkway on Dec. 8. 

The victim told police the older teen repeatedly harassed him through text and threatened to send naked photos of him to his friends and family — then demanded money from him. The victim sent his harasser $240, but she continued to threaten to expose him. 

Stolen cards

Someone swiped bank cards and cash from a parked car near 82 Street and 19th Avenue on Dec. 9.

Police said the thief took $50 and all of the victim’s bank cards from his unlocked car at 9 p.m. The 40-year old got a notification at 1:43 a.m. of an attempted transaction of $4,784.

High and dry

A group of petty thieves snagged items from a Kohl’s on Bay Parkway on Dec. 10.

A witness told police three people grabbed four Shark hair dryers, worth $1,306.46 in total, and fled the store in a 2021 Nissan Altima with a New Jersey license plate.

Locked and loaded

A burglar stole from a car parked near New Utrecht Avenue and 85th Street on Dec. 7.

Police say the victim was making a delivery and left his car locked and unattended when a thief popped the passenger side window and stole $5,000 at 1:20 p.m.

The unknown burglar fled the location heading north on New Utrecht Avenue.
