Although Saturday marks three years since the Republican riots at Washington’s Capitol Building, the impacts of the fatal attack continue to loom over American citizens and the upcoming U.S. presidential election.
Republican supporters loyal to former U.S. President Donald Trump — who lost the 2020 election just two months prior — believe the election was rigged; triggering the attacks that left five people dead and the foundation of America’s democracy unstable.
And instead of moving on from Trump and his lies about the 2020 election being stolen from him by current President Joe Biden, Republican voters have once again embraced him as he seeks to return to the White House this year.
