Two men were struck, one fatally, by oncoming city subway trains within an eight-hour span this weekend, cops said Saturday.
A Brooklyn-bound F train entering the Second Ave. station near E. Houston St. on the Lower East Side struck a man found on the tracks about 10:50 p.m. Friday, cops said.
The man died at the scene. Cops were trying to identify him Saturday,
Investigators were trying to determine how the man ended up on the tracks.
Eight hours later, at about 6:50 a.m., a 61-year-old man waiting for a Manhattan-bound Q train at the Atlantic Ave. station in downtown Brooklyn stumbled and fell onto the roadbed just as a train was coming into the station.
The man was struck by the train. EMS rushed him to New York Presbyterian-Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, where he was expected to survive.
Cops were investigating the incident Saturday.
In 2023, the MTA reported that 241 people were struck or clipped by trains — 97 fatally.
