‘Worth remembering’: Soviet Army would have ‘spread across Europe’ if not for D-Day

The Soviet Army would have “spread across Europe” if it wasn’t for the D-Day landings, says former Foreign Minister Alexander Downer.

His remarks come as the 80th anniversary of the landings has commenced.

“Europe would have been a very different place if it hadn’t been for D-Day and it’s worth remembering,” he told Sky News host Chris Kenny.
