Brooklyn detectives are investigating a deadly stabbing on board an MTA bus in broad daylight on Sunday afternoon, police sources said.

The horrifying incident occurred just after 2:37 p.m. on May 11 on a J90 shuttle bus temporarily replacing J train service at Crescent Street and Cypress Place in Cypress Hills. 

According to law enforcement sources, officers from the 75th Precinct found the 41-year-old victim, a passenger on the bus, with multiple stab wounds to the abdomen.

Paramedics arrived at the scene and rushed the man to Brookdale Hospital where he was pronounced dead. 

A preliminary investigation reported that the incident stemmed from a verbal dispute and took place in the rear of the bus. Police sources could not yet confirm what the argument was about. 

As of 4:30 p.m. Sunday, officers and MTA officials were seen canvassing the area for clues. Detectives interviewed the bus driver, who said he was on his final lap before heading home.

The suspect remains at large. Police describe him as a male, last seen wearing a gray sweatsuit. No arrests have been made so far, and the investigation remains ongoing.
