Man shot in the head at Brooklyn intersection clinging to life: cops


A man is clinging to life at a Brooklyn hospital after being shot in the head early on Monday morning, police reported.

According to law enforcement sources, the shooting occurred at about 2:33 a.m. on May 26 at the corner of Myrtle and Tompkins Avenues in Bedford-Stuyvesant. 

Officers from the 79th Precinct responded to the scene after receiving a 911 call about the incident.

Upon arrival, cops said, they found the victim, a man of an unknown age with no identification, with a gunshot wound to his head.

EMS rushed the victim to Kings County Hospital, where he remains in critical condition at this time.

The motive for the shooting remains unknown, police sources said Monday. Detectives have yet to identify a suspect; they are currently canvassing the area for video evidence and other clues that may help them find the suspect. 

So far, no arrests have been made in the ongoing investigation, authorities said.

The 79th Precinct saw six shootings year-to-date through May 18, down from eight at the same point in 2024.
