Twenty-four years ago, New York and our nation changed forever. We remember the nearly 3,000 souls taken on 9/11, the New Yorkers who went to work and never came home, and the heroes who ran toward danger to save others. We will never forget.

FlynnStoned Cannabis Company rolls out Bay Ridge’s biggest dispensary yet

Bay Ridge just got a lot greener.

FlynnStoned Cannabis Company, one of New York’s fastest-growing dispensary brands, has opened the neighborhood’s largest cannabis shop at 8112 Fifth Ave. The dispensary debuted Aug. 31 and hosted a community event last weekend.

This marks FlynnStoned’s second Brooklyn location, following its July 2025 debut in Greenpoint. It joins Kaya Bliss, the nabe’s first legal dispensary, which opened earlier this year on Third Ave. between 84th and 85th streets.

The company was originally founded by Michael Flynn in 2021, following New York’s legalization of recreational cannabis. The brand has quickly become a household name in the state’s cannabis scene.

Flynn’s personal story is deeply rooted in the plant. Convicted of a low-level marijuana offense at 18, he has said the experience helped shape his path toward creating a legal cannabis empire.

“Selling marijuana is my destiny,” he told The New York Times. The FlynnStoned name now boasts 10 locations across the state, from Rochester to Staten Island.

Inside the Bay Ridge shop, customers will find an expansive menu of cannabis products, from flower and pre-rolls to edibles, vapes and concentrates. The company emphasizes education and quality customer service, with trained staff — affectionately named “budtenders” — “well-versed in the intricacies of the plant. Their goal? “Empowering consumers with knowledge about cannabis and its potential benefits.”

Since opening its first location, FlynnStoned has taken the world by storm. Its grand opening events have attracted sports legends and their cannabis brands like Mike Tyson’s “Mike Bites” in Greenpoint and Carmelo Anthony’s “STAYME70” (pronounced Stay Melo) in Syracuse

Because state law regulations restrict Flynn from operating more than three dispensaries across New York, he has scaled his brand through partnerships. By making deals with other owners, it “allowed other dispensaries to use the FlynnStoned name in exchange for a small cut of their revenue,” the Times reported.

Joe Micciulli, co-owner of the Bay Ridge location, told Brooklyn Paper he was “happy to be there and serve the community.”

“We have the largest selection of cannabis products here in Brooklyn, and we’re ramping up to have our grand opening in mid-to-late-October,” he said. “Stop down and check out our selection!”

FlynnStoned Bay Ridge is open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.
