Fire Marshals are investigating the cause of a three-alarm fire that broke out in Crown Heights on Wednesday evening.
At around 5 p.m. on Nov. 12, the FDNY began receiving calls about the fire at a three-story home at 190 New York Ave. Members from the 38 Battalion were met with heavy smoke showing from the second floor.
The fire extended to the third floor via the interior wall and eventually through the roof.
Fire Department personnel deployed five hose lines and aggressively knocked down the main body of fire from the interior. Searches throughout the building were negative. The fire was placed under control at 6:25 p.m. There were no reported injuries as a result.
Nearby resident Terrence Atkins said, “There was heavy smoke coming from the building as I walked outside. I am glad the firefighters got here in great time.”
