US President Biden has secretly given Ukraine permission to use American-supplied weapons to strike targets in Russia, US officials claim. US officials said Biden’s decision applies only to targets inside Russia near the border with the Kharkiv region which has been hit by a Russian offensive. The decision marks a policy shift by Biden, who had steadfastly refused to allow Ukraine to use US weapons for strikes inside Russia. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has also changed his position on use of donated weapons to Ukraine. Scholz, following the US move, has given Ukraine permission to fire German-delivered weapons at targets in Russia.
