Zelenskyy also offered his condolences on the death of U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham, describing him as a "true friend of Ukraine." According to Zelenskyy, the two leaders discussed Ukraine's defense priorities, including licensing the production of Patriot air defense interceptor missiles, along with other initiatives aimed at strengthening Ukraine's air defense capabilities.

The high-stakes talks reportedly focused on what comes next after recent strikes on Iran and how the U.S. and Israel move forward strategically. Netanyahu was also expected to present intelligence that Iran is actively expanding its nuclear sites, even as Tehran continues to avoid direct peace talks with the United States despite Trump's optimism about diplomacy.

The improved relationship follows months of outreach by Zelensky and European leaders after their previously strained ties. Trump, who once believed Ukraine would lose and criticized Zelensky, now views him as a stronger leader and has grown more skeptical of Vladimir Putin.
